What is this bulbous fleshy lump?

Hi sporners corner, a gross thing just came out of me and I thought I would ask for your expertise…

In my ovulation window, had my usual light ovulation spotting. Then today (cycle day 15) I have had proper cramps and heavy period style bleeding (not usual) and passed this monstrous thing! But what is it?

I know I have a uterine polyp as I had an IVF round (egg collection only - no transfer) last month and they saw it in the scans growing fat and happy on all my IVF oestrogen injections. I am in fact due to have a polyp removal.

It is about the same size as the thing they showed us on the scan. It is 2cm x 1cm, very fleshy and is whitish, with a possible root at one end. Squishy to touch. Proper bulbous lump of flesh, not a clot. Is it a polyp? Can they detach by themselves?

If not, what else could it be? Highly unlikely to be pregnant. Also looks/feels different to past early miscarriages etc.

I hope it is sporner appropriate and might provide some gross enjoyment.

Thanks @minipie so looks like they can fall out. Dr google has very little on this topic.

Yes looks like they can although rare!

I did think decidual cast but it doesn’t really look like one of those.

Looks like a polyp or a partial decidual cast? I'd get that checked

Livery texture?

Big clot I had one come out of my nipple ....

Little update following an IVF scan for anyone with similar - it was indeed my uterine polyp that fell out! Apparently it can happen, who knew?! Saves me an operation, phew! Smile
