How to remove blackheads in ear?

DS1, 17, has them in his ears and I can't for the life of me work out how to get them out.

Is there a good gadget I can buy? I saw something on Amazon that was a peelable turmeric (?) mask - would that work?

Please don't tell me to watch any videos of other people's spots - I am his mum and I find this grim enough!

Comedone extractor device pr a kirby grip (that ls what my mum used to use on us)

Hoppinggreen · 04/12/2021 16:29

You twist a Kirby grip to make a black head squeezer

SwayingInTime · 04/12/2021 16:30

Basic slip (not luer lock) syringes. Place over blackhead and ease back the plunger. Repeat until it comes out. Then salicylic acid every night to keep on top of them.

If they've been there a while and are big you may need to prick the thin layer of skin on top to allow them yo be squeezed out.

Otherwise anything with a small loop. Press down firmly and pull back slightly. Ive had some success with the casing of a biro when all else failed Blush

Ds2 had some absolute corkers. One of my favourite memories....

If they're bad you have about 100 volunteers on here.

But yes, Kirby grip. You can get special toolkits but the tools looks like that!

I have three whiteheads in my ear in a vertical line. Do you think I can use the same to get rid of them? I hate the sight of them ☹️

How can you see them? I don't think I have ever seen the inside of my ears!
Ceto · 05/12/2021 00:52

If they're anything like the best videos, they're interconnected and hold an amazing amount of gunk. You need something thin so that you push the stuff through from one end to the other, and then some very thin tweezers to pull the gak out.

You lucky thing.

RobertSmithsLipstick · 05/12/2021 00:56

I have one of those tool sets.
They're great.
One has a really sharp end, poke the blackhead with that, then turn it around and have fun!!
