Overnight. Been to the chemist and they've said out of hours unit for antibiotics. It's very sore. No idea where it's come from and it's on the bottom of my leg

Ouch. That looks nasty.
Does the area feel warm?

Palavah · 29/05/2021 12:17

Ouch. Draw a ring around the red area now so the minor injuries/wherever you go can see if/how it's spreading.
Definitely get it seen to.

ginislife · 29/05/2021 12:42

It's very tight and sore. I'm at minor injuries now.

How did it go, OP?

ginislife · 29/05/2021 18:10

They put a drawing dressing on and said they thought it was a bite. I'm to leave the dressing in for 48 hours but after 6 it looks like this ? She did say it would blister....

Ouch!

sar302 · 29/05/2021 18:21

Christ! I'm sorry for you, as that looks very uncomfortable. But I'm also fascinated by the outcome!

Ohshitiveturnedintomymother · 29/05/2021 18:23

Ooooh I want to see underneath! How are you resisting peeling that off?

Youngatheart00 · 29/05/2021 18:24

Did they say what could have caused it? A bite maybe? Glad you’re on antibiotics. It looks nasty

ginislife · 29/05/2021 18:47

@Youngatheart00 I'm not on antibiotics. Minor injuries said not required and that chemists send everyone to them as they're risk averse 😀. It is sore but it will be worse when I come to rip the dressing off !! Lol. I badly want to poke a hole in the dressing to let it out !! 🤮🤮

OP posts:
picklemewalnuts · 29/05/2021 19:01

Don't rip the dressing off, just let it fall off on its own. It will. The skin around and under the bite will have renewed itself. All good.

ginislife · 29/05/2021 19:16

@picklemewalnuts really ? Even with all that pus collecting ? It looks vile !

OP posts:
picklemewalnuts · 29/05/2021 19:23

Yes, it heals from below. The gel will stop any itching. The pus might disperse into the gel...

LaurieSchafferIsAllBitterNow · 29/05/2021 19:51

have you been walking in the countryside?? ...I was wondering tick bite...so watch out for any sign of the bullseye style rash developing around it.

ginislife · 29/05/2021 20:11

@LaurieSchafferIsAllBitterNow The nearest I've recently got to walking was mowing the front lawn in the week !! A friend has just told me to watch for a bullseye ring too so thank you.

yes, lawns can be a dangerous place...hedgehogs are rife with ticks too...although I think it's the deer type that are more worrisome!

I mowed the lawn into a gorgeous chequerboard effect once because there were so many daisies, and they looked so pretty. DH never asked me to do it again!
