Look at this thing

It's a mucous cyst or something. Plugged saliva gland. I've popped it a few times and the saliva that comes out is so thick I can pull it like a thread.

How do I stop this coming back?

Have you ever spoken to a GP about this? I had no clue this could even happen! Does it actually hurt?

Apparently they're really common. I'm to go and see them if it's not sorted itself out in three months

If you were to record it popping, we may be able to help more

I have had a few of them, but they seem to come up really fast and disappear pretty quickly too, I have never attempted to pop one.

I have left it but it just gets bigger and uncomfortable. I popped this about half an hour ago and it was like thin jelly.

Next time it fills up, I'll record and post here. Don't worry. You'll only have to wait a couple of days

Son had a this, it was a blocked salivary gland.. I thought it was an ulcer and was putting bicarbonate soda, tea tree oil etc etc all to no avail
It got laser blasted and has never returned

When I had this the dr drained it with a needle and syringe. Never refilled

Yeah, I think I may have to tell the GP I don't want to wait three more months. It's been three already and it just swells every couple of days until it's huge and uncomfy and needs releasing

I would suggest seeing dentist rather than GO

It was dentist who referred DS to local hospital for the laser treatment

I had one of those. I spoke to my dentist about it and he referred me to the NHS to have it removed.

My dentist cut mine out as it kept popping and refilling...it did actually refill once after he cut it out but disappeared shortly afterwards...

They will recur unfortunately. That's quite a large one! They're not a problem per se but I imagine it's massively annoying. A danger sign is getting them in your top lip, much less likely
To be a blocked saliva gland and more likely to be something sinister. Very rare though.

Dentist here. It's certainly nothing to worry about. Might be a mucocele/salivary gland cyst. They are pretty harmless.
I'd see your dentist rather than GP though
