Tonsil stones

Sorry but I tried so hard to get pictures and failed miserably!

Dd 14 has always had HUGE tonsils with large tunnels. We were mucking around tonight and I spotted a tonsil stone.

Now I only know about this disgusting things from 'disgusting bodies' and the near constant adverts I seem to get targeted with (obviously the computer overlords are psychic).

Not sure if we did the right thing but we went at it with cotton buds and managed to get it out. Basically it was like a huge blocked pore in her mouth.

Just thought I'd share with you lot as you're the only people who will really appreciate the nastiness.

Ack I have these, hate them. They absolutely stink too!

I get them occasionally but have to rely on them coming out themselves because I can't put anything near the back of my mouth without retching.

I was wondering if your daughter has any trouble with tonsillitis. As a teen I had it a lot coupled with so many tonsil stones I used to remove on my own. In the end I had to have my tonsils out as it was such a problem - wish it wasn’t as the odd one would have been quite fun (ugh, yes I said fun!)
