Growth over toe nail

Has anyone seen anything like this? All my Google searches come up with nothing like it. Basically it’s a fleshy flap growing over the toe nail, it’s not attached to the toe nail. I’ve tried trimming it before but it bleeds. Thanks

Oh I've had that before, it was like a new nail grew over the top, and I peeled the old one off, have you banged it at all? I think mine was from my shoes but it was years ago, very satisfying though

Thanks for your replies. Yes I think I recall either hurting it or having tight shoes a long time ago. A Google search of skin tag over toe came up with periungual digitial fibrokeratoma which looks exactly like it is! Says it needs removing surgically, I’m guessing by a dr or do I go to a podiatrist? I think I’ll probably leave it right now and see if it resolves itself.

My OH has a double toenail on his little toe - it's a fairly common thing apparently. But it doesn't look like yours. Is it painful?
