Please note that this IS sporners corner so no posts of faux disgust. I know you LOVE it. I had a hearing test last week because I’ve been getting deafer and deafer since I had a demon child a year ago and have put it down to her screaming constantly in my ear. No no. I have one beautiful eardrum and one that was packed solid with shite. I was sent on my merry way with advice to use Earol ‘a bit more often than it says on the pack’ and another appointment in 2 weeks time to try some hearing aids. I bought the Earol, and got caught in an Amazon hole advertising all sorts of ear cleaning devices. One of which was a big old syringe. I’ve just sat by the sink for half an hour happily blasting hot water into my ear hole when this magnificent beast emerged. It pretty much the size and shape of a coco pop I now feel off balance and weird because I’m assuming that being so blocked for so long must have caused more problems than just hearing loss. I present to you, my earwax. This is pretty much the most fun I’ve ever had in a bank holiday.

This is excellent! Just ordered a syringe from eBay so I can hopefully experience the same joys.

I tried everything after being almost completely dead in one ear for months! I then found a syringe kit on Amazon, like you OP I had to blast the ear a good 15 plus times, all of a sudden 'whoosh' and a lovely lot of chunks came out and I had hearing again. Volume on the telly went from 42 to 7 - no joke! Delighted.

I had a half hearted attempt yesterday as I do think that this was the top of the ear poo nugget iceberg, but it was fruitless. I think I’m going to hit the Earol for a few days and try again. For those asking what it felt like, it was like a build up of pressure which isn’t a great feeling in your ear really, then a sudden whoosh as water got behind and dislodged it. Little bits of wax came out in the attempts beforehand, that got gradually darker the closer I got to the money shot. I’ve had no noticeable improvement in my hearing though which is disappointing

HCP here. Please do not use one of those syringes, they can lead to perforated eardrums. Best way to remove earwax is to use a drop of olive oil 3 times a day for at least a week, dont pput cotton wool in after though .

I was in the car, DH was driving and felt something like a stone in my ear and this just came out.

I once got something like this out of my cats ear, it was the shape and almost the size of a baked bean! Aaah those were the days!
So jealous if of all the people who can grow lovely wax like this, mine are always clean as a whistle ☹️.

I have one ear that gives up nothing mwhile the other ear has a nice normal amount of skin and wax.

@mintich I'm so pleased to hear that. He just sounds so lovely. I have told my husband he needs to take me to him if I ever have problems with my ears
