Abscess help!

I've had a slowly growing lump under the skin, sort of one side of my perineum for about a week. Getting bigger and more painful! Couldn't take it any more so went to the doctors today and it's an abscess!
I've been prescribed antibiotics but what else can I do?
Dear god the pain! I can't sit down either! Any advice?!

Vagisil- put something on it and slightly inside you anus too. Will be relief in seconds!

Magnesium sulphate paste may help draw it out. Otherwise keep it clean, salt baths may help. Try not to poke or anger it further tempting as it is i had one operated on years ago, you have my sympathy ♥

I know it's excruciating. You did the right thing and the antibiotics should kick in the next day or so. I ignored mine for donkeys until I ended up in hospital 👀 hope it eases soon xxx I know it's silly but I would try not to sit against it where possible and where life allows

DH had one. Don't delay getting anti b's. He found relief in a hot bath and it popped- it's the only thing that has ever made me gag and I'm a hardened spooner! He ended up in hospital make sure you take it seriously.hope you're ok x

It's going down with the antibiotics, thanks for asking! I've been having hot baths with salt in and trying to resist poking it but honestly it was too painful anyway.
I know it's sporner corner so did try and get a picture of it at its angriest but couldn't get one without my arsehole in it and nobody wants to see that! 😂
