Hello there

I’m looking for your expert advice. My husband had a couple of tonsil stones. I’ve read that you can get rid of them yourself. Does anyone have any advice?

The poor thing had never had cleaner teeth. He is flossing like crazy and brushing like a Colgate commercial but I can still smell them.

Gargle with warm saltwater, floss and brush teeth after every meal, don't eat between meals unless he wants to be doing this routine every 10 minutes. Idk if it's advisable, but I would gargle a bit then poke the throat around them until they popped out, then gargle some more with dilute tcp to disinfect. Once they've gone, keep doing the gargling routine for a lot longer than you think (ie a couple of weeks plus) otherwise they come back

Also for prevention try not to snore as a dry open mouth at night add to the possibility of them forming.

Very clean finger dipped in tea tree oil, have a good prod about.

Saltwater rinse.

Get some long cotton bud thingies. Dip in 3% hydrogen peroxide, prod about.

Or. Have the damn tonsils removed.

After 20 years of it, I had mine out. A little baby one grew back very quickly (left side) and has already been collecting stinky crap. No fair.
