Congratulations. You must be very proud

CatToddlerUprising · 22/09/2019 17:24

That is glorious. What did you use?

SleepyKat · 22/09/2019 17:25

It felt amazing. I tried this morning and got nowhere. Wasn't sure if it was wax or fluid bunging my ear up as I've had a bad cold and been full of snot. Decided on another attempt this afternoon and I could feel something starting to move, so kept blasting with a syringe and then it came shooting out.

I have in the cupboard for such emergencies this which I bought from Amazon. It's been useful a few times.

syringe

I've used otex drops a few times over the last few days in case it was wax and obviously it was.

I could feel something in my ear canal a couple of weeks ago. I used a pointy cotton bud and hooked it out, it was amazing - I totally feel your joy here OP.

Why did I not think to take a photo?

SleepyKat · 22/09/2019 17:28

Hear - not here in the OP!

God, I think the wax has addled my brain!

Oh god, that’s amazing.

CaviarAndCigarettes · 22/09/2019 17:38

Omg that's amazing

PhonicTheHedgehog · 22/09/2019 17:41

Lovely! Are you going to keep it?

Although I would like to suggest no one attempts this at home. Even going to a medical professional for an ear syringe is a risky business as it can damage your hearing. Micro suction is the way.

meccacos2 · 22/09/2019 17:43

I had my ear syringed at the doctors surgery over a decade ago. It wasn’t impacted ear wax.... it was dried skin which became impacted after having shingles.

I found it fascinating and repulsive at the same time 😝

Bouffalant · 22/09/2019 17:57

Keep it and have it made into a necklace! Grin

SleepyKat · 22/09/2019 19:27

dh has just come home and I said to him "look what came out my ear" and showed him the photo. "5 pence piece" he said looking a bit confused. Hmm Grin

Oh i had to do my daughters a couple of weeks ago and had a very satisfactory result! We were amazed at what came out and she was very happy to get her hearing back. However my husband has the same issue and we anointed his ears with the olive oil for a couple of days and then got to work. Not a sausage!

Anyone got any ideas for softening the wax up, his must be solid.

SleepyKat · 22/09/2019 19:38

I just used otex as had a bottle in the house. Practice nurse says olive oil is just as good.

SleepyKat · 22/09/2019 19:39

When I do the syringing I find I need fairly warm water....think that helps soften it as well. Cold water doesn't get the wax out.

That looks amazing but I have a cautionary tale. I tried an at home ear syringe once, it was a special kit for amateurs that directed the water in several different directions to prevent people from blasting their eardrum and rupturing it and damaging their hearing.

Anyway, one blast of water went into my ear and I immediately felt dizzy and nauseous and wasn't right for weeks afterwards. I'm never messing with my ears again.

SleepyKat · 22/09/2019 19:45

Have to admit on one previous attempt years ago it went badly wrong and I was in agony for days/a week. Ended up at the walk in centre and they thought I'd got mastoiditis and wanted to admit me to hospital! Ended up with oral antibiotics and antibiotic ear drops.

So I'm not quite as vigorous with it now.

Amazing!

frozenonions · 22/09/2019 20:34

Holy shit that is beautiful, OP. Congratulations.

(Did anyone else go straight to the reviews on the Amazon link and look at the ear wax pictures that people have posted after using this? Grin)

TemporaryPermanent · 22/09/2019 20:35

There was a horrific thread from a woman who ended up bursting her husbands ear drum and I felt so guilty for being a sporner regular then. Since then I restrict myself to professional earwax porn. But that's amazing

SleepyKat · 22/09/2019 20:47

Oh I’m going to have to post a review with my photo, didn’t realise people were doing that!

This reminds me a bit of the South Park where Randy Marsh does the biggest shit ever, and everyone is gathering round in awe of it. Grin
