What would you do now? (Caution with pictures of pus)

Yesterday morning an old piercing site half way up my ear (so not cartridge but not lobe) was really painful and hot, there was a lump but no pus.

I put mag sulphate on it last night and then today I gave it a good squeeze and green pus came out along with a semi solid piece of something.

It feels alot better now I was just wondering if you would now just leave it? Put savlon or something on it? Or as my overdramatic dh suggests go to the gp? Dh has suggested to as the hole hasn't had an earring in it for over a year and he is concerned because the pus was a greeny colour.

Pictures added to show what came out (and for viewing pleasure)

Clean it thoroughly and some savlon should do the trick.

I’d give it a good soapy wash, dry it and see how it is in couple of days.

I wouldn’t go to the GP. Keep it clean and dry, if it doesn’t clear up then I’d try dettol / sudocrem or something. Old piercings can get infected, it doesn’t take much.

OOh DH has this with an old lobe piercing that hadn't been used in years. He squeezed it and the gunk came out so fast that there was an audible splat as it exploded onto the mirror Grin Gross, but so so good! wish it had been mine!

Clean it with some salt water and a cotton bud morning and night for a bit until it settles down

I had 2 holes in each lobe but only use 1. Occasionally the second hole goes a bit like this. I give it a squeeze, bit of sudacrem then leave it.

Haven’t lost an ear yet!

Thanks for the replies everyone. Beside the pain I was in yesterday with it and not being able to sleep on it last night I am all in all pretty pleased with it as I am a sporner at heart (just didn't know what to do after the spectacular squeezing)
