Tonsil stones

At what point does it become abnormal? This is from one tonsil! It’s so gross and despite being very satisfying to pop them out I’d really rather not have rancid shit stones in the back of my throat.

Having less or cutting out dairy may help.

You can see and feel them. Might try cutting out the dairy, I don’t have much milk or yogurts but I’m do love cheese...

I only recently found out that they are a real thing. Every now and again I'd have one just pop into my mouth and I'd be all ewwwwww what the hell is it?! Squish it with my fingers and it's rancid !
I always wondered where they come from. Bleughhhh

Did you know that you can get saliva gland stones? They come out from under the tongue in a long stick shape. Rarer, and weirdly more disgusting.

I miss them! I used to get them constantly, as I had huge, pock mark tonsils from repeated tonsillitis. In the end I was getting so many grim episodes of tonsillitis a year, that the GP referred me for removal and out they came at the tender age of 35.

I used to get some really massive ones coming out and they absolutely stank. It was hugely satisfying though, like squeezing giant pimples.

I have a massive one at the moment that is making me gag, problem is I can't touch my tonsils without ggagging and being very uncomfortable, any ideas how to get rid of it, it's horrid.

I had a huge one once, about the size of a sunflower seed. Now THAT was rank!

I've noticed that I tend to get these more when I eat things like cous cous, bulgar wheat etc. When I did Slimming World 'green days years ago I was living off the stuff but only have it occasionally now and the stones seem to follow. Could that be the case for you?

Glad it wasn’t just me that took great satisfaction in squeezing them out. Some times I was amazed at how much could come out of each tonsil. Then I had to have the tonsils out
