Splinter under nail

It's not spoken yet so definitely no klaxon but bugger me it hurts.

How do I get this out. I've cut the nail back as far as possible. Tried a safety pin which could touch it but didn't have the force to pull it up. A knife got its neighbor out but this one is properly into the flesh and nerves judging by the pain. Husband ear trimming scissors no good either.

I'd wait it out. Keep your hands clean, maybe use an antibiotic ointment. It'll grow out shortly!

Thanks for that. They do grow quite quickly so I'll just have to put up with a bit of pain.

Mag sulphate might help draw it out but it does look quite deep. Nothing ventured though...

I feel your pain. I'm a florist and get one of these somewhere at least every month.
