WHAT has just come out of my throat?

So, what is this lump that I've just managed to gag up? Been feeling like there is something in the back of my throat most of the afternoon. Managed to get rid of the kids for a bit, and there is a white lump at the back of my throat. Manage to get the attached up. It's hard and rather smelly . Any of you lovely ladies offer any words of wisdom? Can I expect more???

Ahh, a tonsil stone. Delightful, aren't they?

I used to get that before I had my tonsils removed, I called them throat bogies! I seem to remember it's something like a build up of calcium and crap that builds up in your tonsils. It stinks!!
I had my tonsils removed to get rid of them, but that is a pretty painful procedure that have as an adult.

And if I don't have tonsils??? Got taken out (along with adonoids) when I was in primary school....

Ugh tonsil stones, I hate the things. Smell of pure sulphur.

Tonsils can grow back. You prob have some ‘pits’ left that gather Ming. I usually find I get a cold or something when I get them.

Definitely a tonsil stone. If you don't have tonsils it's probably been lurking in a little lymphe crevice in your through somewhere.
Perhaps your tonsils are growing back (it can happen!)??

I get them and they're grim. Can feel them building up and (when nobody's around) frequently find myself contorting my tongue to try to dislodge them. They absolutely reek, so I'm paranoid that my breath must smell dreadful if I have one of those at the back of my throat.

Ok. And Dr Google suggest salt water gargle to try and dislodge any others. I'm pretty sure I can feel another one, but that might just be because I've been agrivating the area. Also must drink more....
Any other suggestions yo get rid of anything still there, or lessen reoccourances?

Open your mouth really wide and look at your throat in a bright light, chances are another popped up to fill the space that one left, you can press on the side of the hole using the non brush end of a clean toothbrush and they will sometimes come out one after the other like a string of stinky pearls - good to clear them out if you are going on a date- they do make your breath reek 🤢

I get these...at the moment on average about one a week...they are vile

I don't have tonsils.
but I still have the 'pockets' and occassionally get tonsil stones.

Definitely tonsil stones, my son gets these and he’s had his tonsils removed. They stink, absolutely stink! Yes to gargling with salt water or antiseptic mouthwash. If you can see one, just push one side gently with a cotton wool bud and it’ll just pop out. Warning: do NOT google them or you’ll be sick! 🤮🤮😂😂
