I have a hard sore lump on my inner thigh, right next to my bikini line.

It feels hard to touch, is about the size of a pea, and is painful and hot.

What do you reckon, ingrowing hair? Bartholins cyst? Just a spot? It doesn’t have a head or anything, just red and sore and under the skin.

What do I do next?

(Tried to take a pic but it’s not happening)

It sounds like an abcess or an infected cyst. You need to get medical treatment.
I had an abcess start like this in a similar place it became so painful I had to have it lanced and removed in hospital.

Bartholions cyst is inside the vagina - so it's not that for sure

Ok thanks.
Oh no I was hoping there would be some home remedy I could try rather than having to go to doctors. I’ll just see if it gets any worse/better first...

Bumping in case anyone has a home remedy they can suggest...

Is this a case for mag sulphate or not?

A bath with Epsom Salts, as hot as you can stand and double the normal amount of salts, it only needs the be shallow though, just to cover the lumpy bit.
Make sure you rinse the salts off after your bath.

My dh had something like this. The doctor said it was muscle and would settle down.

I find that Savlon lotion and cream works wonders on this type of boil, clears it quickly.
GP said they're usually staph aureus usually so respond to chlorhexidine like Hibiscrub too.

Just had one removed surgically that just kept on refilling after it burst and drained, the diagnosis was sebaceous cyst, yours sounds exactly the same, no head as such just a big hard inflamed lump. No amount of home remedies touched it.

Had to have 7 days of 4x a day 500mg AB's first and then it was cut out under LA - still healing so too early to say if it's been successful or not but they sounded very confident they had got it.

Will get some Epsom salts and give that a go.

Otherwise may just wait it out until it does something

Marmite how long did you have yours for before you got it removed?
