So I've just bloody discovered (quite literally) that I have worms. I feel so utterly disgusting!!!
What do I do?? I can feel one wriggling in my bum and can't get it. I've read that at night they can crawl out of your anus and into your VAGINA!!!!!! 😱 please tell me this won't happen!!!!
Do I have to go to my GP? I can never get an appointment for weeks and think I'll end it all before putting up with this wriggling vile feeling for that much longer!!!
Please help!!!!!!

"It’s a shame as well. It gave you the ultimate shits if my memory serves but that stuff was the dogs bollocks!"

It had a laxative in it as well as worm-clearing stuff :D

Sudocrem or Vaseline will stop them travelling. Knickers on tonight. Wash sheets and towels on hot wash tomorrow and hoover like mad. Get ovex.

Oh and they can definitely crawl up your vagina. Had to fish one out once as the itching was hideous- no I've no idea how I did it but managed to fish the little bugger out 🤢

We only discovered dd had worms because she was writhing in agony with a sore vagina. I googled what it could possibly be and came across worms. Sure enough I armed myself with a torch and peeked when she was asleep and it was worms on vagina and anus. Ovex sorted it without problems. I was mildly horrified and went on a cleaning blitz for the next week.

@DarkStuff

Ive been treated for them whilst breastfeeding, it was fine. Just wash all your bedding , towels etc, treat everyone in the house, and try not to think about it too much!
Did you take OVEX when breastfeeding? My toddler hard worms so I need to treat the whole family.. but I'm breastfeeding so wondering what you took?

Sudocrem or metanium around the anus will discourage them from coming out for air

Does anyone know why Prispin was discontinued!?!

Google does.

Pripsen (piperazine plus sennosides) has been discontinued in the UK, due to problems in sourcing raw materials. It is not manufactured elsewhere and therefore will not be available for import, although a number of countries do still have preparations of piperazine (as monotherapy) available.

Although I like to think it was discontinued just to save further generations of children from the trauma of taking the vile stuff.

@gamerchick

Well they can’t move or lay eggs as easily if there’s a load of funk there.
I did this but then my exH said if they can crawl through shit they can probably crawl through Vaseline
TragicallyUnbeyachted · 19/12/2021 12:20

Ovex. Treat the whole family. When the kids were small I'd just automatically treat if I noticed one of them seemed to have an itchy arse, rather than faffing around trying to spot a worm. By the time you've seen a worm the chances are everyone has them.

TragicallyUnbeyachted · 19/12/2021 12:23

I'm virtually certain I took Ovex when BF as I was BF for the best part of (ye gods) nine years and I'm positive the worms didn't just target the occasional passages when I wasn't.
