Had an ingrown toe nail removed 10 years ago, nail bed grew back really thick. Seemed to be a bit 'loose' so yesterday in a for of frustration I attacked it. Got most of the nail out with no pain, and now have an angry nail free bed. Anyone want to see? It's quite gross!

Ooo. It looks very clean though. How will you protect it? Don't want it to fester...

It looks like a willy!

I live in sandals so will carry on with them. Surprisingly it doesn't hurt

OP (at the risk of outing myself) my children have a condition called Epidermolysis Bullosa which causes their nails to fall off. I have loads of dressings that you can use to protect it and keep it dust/dirt free while it heals, but won't stick to the wound like a plaster would, if that makes sense. If you'd like some sending PM me your address and I'll pop some in the post this afternoon.

Thank you so much!!

Ooh does it hurt? salt water soaking to keep it clean? If you do use a dressing, remember to soak it off (wincing at the memory of my mum pulling off my dressings without soaking when I had both big toe nails removed 17 years ago Shock).
