Tattoo is 4 days old now and the scabbing is finally starting to peel away! I have a terrible itch! I so want to pick off all the flakes!

Slap it, don't scratch it!!

mypropertea · 08/06/2016 09:18

Are you putting cream on it? Savalon helps the itch.

ApollO88 · 08/06/2016 09:40

My tattooist recommended coco butter which I used after my last one with him. Trying to moisten it up as much as I can but am at work and the itch is driving me to distraction!

Cocoa butter is great - I've used it on all mine and they've all healed amazingly. The only problem is the smell, it always makes me hungry!!

That tattoo is stunning! I know how tempting it is to pick but don't. Put plenty of cream on and gently slap when it itches.

This was just after it was done to give u a wider view of it. The line work was done in April, the photos I shared before were 2 hours of colouring in done a few days ago. The tail will be finished in July. Then in August we start on the Japanese garden themed background

It's really stunning - the colours are so vibrant, it'll be even brighter when it's healed :)

I love Japanese work - my whole left side is done in Japanese ink (ribs and leg). Just need to decide if I'm going to take the plunge and get a half sleeve as well!

Thank you! This is my first what I call serious piece. So far all my other tattoos have been off the book bits that I love still but this is the first piece where I collaborated with an artist for a completely unique piece.

All of mine are custom pieces - I feel really sorry for my tattooist as I can never describe what I want and I have the artistic talent of a dead badger! Luckily he manages to draw what I meant to say I wanted.

My arrow is giving me hell! It is all fine lines so I am trying soooooo hard not to touch it. I need scratch mitts.

ApollO88 · 09/06/2016 22:13

I took off my work cardigan today and a sickeningly large amount of tattoo flakes fluttered to the floor!! Nearly all the scabs are gone. I'll post a pick when it's completely shed
