Having a baby for the first time can be quite a daunting experience, especially when it comes to ensuring you’re fully kitted out with everything you need. What to buy? What not to buy? What actually works? What is actually worthing spending money on? Mumsnet would love you to take a look at the products on our new reviews section and choose your favourite.

Here’s what Mumsnet has to say: “Mumsnet, has relaunched its independent Reviews section as part of its mission to make parents’ lives easier - by helping you choose the best products for pregnancy, babies and toddlers.

The new Reviews section features both new products and Mumsnet user favourites, all tested by real parents in real-life situations (not in a lab). Unlike other reviews sites, brands don't pay to be reviewed; products are selected after extensive research into market bestsellers, expert advice and the opinions of Mumsnet users. During testing, products are pushed to the limit to make sure they will serve new parents well.

There are currently 19 review categories — including travel systems, changing bags, maternity bras and high chairs — each feature a buyers’ guide, and up to five ‘Mumsnet Best’ products. These include the overall winner and winners of more specific sub-categories (e.g. “best for small homes” in the strollers category).”

Whatever your favourite item product is, post the link to it on the thread below and you’ll be in with the chance of winning one of the following prizes:

Thanks and good luck!

Our folding booster/highchair. Used a lot more than our expensive, all singing and dancing highchair!

I know these are controversial but I wouldn't be without it. I used one for my 4 year old and have bought one again to use with my 3 week old. Makes bottles quickly and easily with no fuss.

Expensive but worth every penny for both of ours. DD didn’t sleep for more than 20 minutes except while being held for the first three weeks of her life. A friend suggested this and in desperation we bought it. The blessed relief when she slept in it for six hours in a go was epic. Both our DC slept well and I think this was a lot to do with it.

It does build up limescale quite quickly, but thats my only complaint. Been used multiple times a day for almost 10 months now and never had a problem. I got a black one to match my kitchen which was nice.

With 4 kids needing car seats the Joie Trillo is perfect as it's cheap yet has all the safety standards you need

Bombay Sapphire as I like the flavour and DD likes the pretty coloured bottle.

IKEA Antilop
I loved this budget high chair. It is affordable but looks stylish and is easy to clean down. No need to spend a fortune.

I'm not liking the limited number of things being reviewed in each category. I love my Manduka carrier, and it's not listed, but more to the point if I was looking for info on a whole range of carriers you're only telling me about four. It's something where different styles suit different people and there's such a variety out there four reviews doesn't even begin to give a sense of the possibilities.

The only thing I've found in the reviews that we've had and loved (and endlessly recommended) is the Antilop high chair: www.mumsnet.com/reviews/highchairs/ikea-antilop I'll never understand why people buy the ones that have padded seats for food etc to get caught in the seams and never get properly clean again.

Did all 3 children, easy to clean, easy to store away until needed again for the next child. And a great price!

Bouncy chair, this one

My sleep-resistant baby loved the bouncy chair and would even nap in it.

Without a doubt it has to be the Stokke MyCarrier it was great while out as I didn't have to have the space for a pram, I felt it helped with bonding, and it was useful for getting on with playing with other DC and doing jobs around the house without the baby crying because he wanted to be held at all times

Not surprised at The Review from MN

We love our Fisher-Price Woodsy Friends Comfy Time Bouncer https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00717LDCE/ref=cmswwrcppapi_ACXXAbGVMZ7G0

Bought another more expensive brand as well but we always use the Fisher Price one. Easy to move around the house and take to the grandparents. She sits in it whilst I shower and also when we're cooking. Couldn't live without it! Smile

My hummy bear to help settle baby. Noises from the womb and white noise. The teddy is cute too, not keen on the Ewan sheep design.

After trying loads of different ones I would have to say 'Clair Dear Lune Cellular Blankets'. These are by far the softest ones we have come across and maintain their shape after washing. I love them so much have stocked up on on in each colour! Perfect breathable yet warm material which is ideal for swaddling and using in Moses Baskets, Cribs, Car Seats etc.
