Having a baby for the first time can be quite a daunting experience, especially when it comes to ensuring you’re fully kitted out with everything you need. What to buy? What not to buy? What actually works? What is actually worthing spending money on? Mumsnet would love you to take a look at the products on our new reviews section and choose your favourite.

Here’s what Mumsnet has to say: “Mumsnet, has relaunched its independent Reviews section as part of its mission to make parents’ lives easier - by helping you choose the best products for pregnancy, babies and toddlers.

The new Reviews section features both new products and Mumsnet user favourites, all tested by real parents in real-life situations (not in a lab). Unlike other reviews sites, brands don't pay to be reviewed; products are selected after extensive research into market bestsellers, expert advice and the opinions of Mumsnet users. During testing, products are pushed to the limit to make sure they will serve new parents well.

There are currently 19 review categories — including travel systems, changing bags, maternity bras and high chairs — each feature a buyers’ guide, and up to five ‘Mumsnet Best’ products. These include the overall winner and winners of more specific sub-categories (e.g. “best for small homes” in the strollers category).”

Whatever your favourite item product is, post the link to it on the thread below and you’ll be in with the chance of winning one of the following prizes:

Thanks and good luck!

www.mumsnet.com/reviews/baby-carriers/stokke-mycarrier I love a good structured baby carrier, we had one like this and I had a wrap one when my little one was tiny but it was quite a fiddle especially in the rain.

Mine has to be my ergobaby 360 performance. I'm still using it with 19 month old. It's super comfy and brilliant for keeping my daughter snugly. The infant insert worked really well.

We love the booster seat we bought for dd. It fits on our regular dining chairs so she can sit with us for meals with out a clumpy highchair getting in the way. Also it's easy to take away and use out and about.

Without doubt, the IKEA Antilop high chair has been the best value for money item we have bought. Easy to clean, easy to store away between DC and very, very sturdy. I cannot recommend it enough!

Has to be the Maclaren buggy:

http://www.maclaren.uk/buggies/buggies-shop/the-collection

Amazing value, lightweight, strong and lasted for ages! Easy to fold down and takes up very little space compared to others I could mention!

A classic design, suitable from birth as it lies flat and comes in LOADS of funky colours. Amazing product!

(Jeeze I sound like I work for them! Promise I don't! )

Nappy bin, I know people say they're pointless but when your wheelie bin is not easy to get to they're a godsend, particularly for keeping upstairs, we had two! Still using one now at 18 months old:

I loved our snuzpod

www.mumsnet.com/reviews/newborn-beds/snuzpod2

I didn't want to cosleep with DS in our bed so this was a brilliant compromise. It's got a small footprint so didn't take up too much room in our small bedroom and he was so comfy in it (pity he didn't sleep more...). I loved the wood and canvas styling too.

Honorable mentions to the Ikea antilop high chair - so cheap! so practical! - and my trusty Avent breast pump - we spent many hours together in the medical room at work expressing milk for my toddler with a milk/formula allergy.

Has to be the Stokke highchair!
www.mumsnet.com/reviews/highchairs/stokke-tripp-trapp

We still use it now with our big children - love that it has multiple uses and fits right up to the dinning room table. Great that they can sit in this and join in with the rest of the family! My little one would sit in it and watch me cook and get on with my jobs

Babydan high chair was a brilliant investment. We had it with my 3yr old and he still uses it now. You can adjust the hight so it grows with them

I loved my ergo and planning to use it this time with infant insert. I woiud just caution people from buying second hand as there are lots of fakes - so if you know the person bought from an authorised retailer go right ahead otherwise I'd be cautious and go for a cheaper brand new other brand

100% this bath. I wish they made them from 3 year olds as I might actually be able to still get her to take a bath!

The Chicco next to me crib was brilliant. So much easier than trying to get the baby back into a moses basket and much easier for night feeds.

Baby box best idea, love the concept and where it originally came from/ethos behind it. Like the way it covers lots of scenarios with all the different products inside.
