Having a baby for the first time can be quite a daunting experience, especially when it comes to ensuring you’re fully kitted out with everything you need. What to buy? What not to buy? What actually works? What is actually worthing spending money on? Mumsnet would love you to take a look at the products on our new reviews section and choose your favourite.

Here’s what Mumsnet has to say: “Mumsnet, has relaunched its independent Reviews section as part of its mission to make parents’ lives easier - by helping you choose the best products for pregnancy, babies and toddlers.

The new Reviews section features both new products and Mumsnet user favourites, all tested by real parents in real-life situations (not in a lab). Unlike other reviews sites, brands don't pay to be reviewed; products are selected after extensive research into market bestsellers, expert advice and the opinions of Mumsnet users. During testing, products are pushed to the limit to make sure they will serve new parents well.

There are currently 19 review categories — including travel systems, changing bags, maternity bras and high chairs — each feature a buyers’ guide, and up to five ‘Mumsnet Best’ products. These include the overall winner and winners of more specific sub-categories (e.g. “best for small homes” in the strollers category).”

Whatever your favourite item product is, post the link to it on the thread below and you’ll be in with the chance of winning one of the following prizes:

Thanks and good luck!

This is a great high chair for the price. Although it's not very stylish and the new Langur high chair (£65) is better looking.

My husband found this camera on amazon for £25 sterling(it is now£78.) It’s a video monitor that you can view on your phone. Also works in the dark.
Saved us £150 on comparable baby monitor. It has a motion sensor and can pan up and down/right and left. Can easily check to see if bab6 ok. We have a separate sound monitor as the sound is a bit muffled

gro egg was invaluable to us! I can’t recommend it enough (although I’ve now seen there is a gro egg 2, so might consider upgrading for dc3)
Brilliant as a soft nightlight and I’m not always able to regulate my temperature so gave me peace of mind that the room was right for dd, really loved its style and look too!

I love this,

I know it's not everyone's thing but I just love swaddling babies, both my children loved it when they were babies.

I love gro products too. I've used gro bags with my three and just bought some gro swaddles to try with my new baby in the summer. Gro bags feel really safe, and I feel that the company put good literature out there about the safety testing etc that they do on their products - very reassuring!

Also, the patterns and colours used are nice, really good quality.

The gro bags are also really well lasting and wash very well!

I would like to hear reviews about the ewen the sheep if anyone has one and likes them! There is a lot of good reviews online but really don't know if it is worth the price!

Ikea highchair! We had a more expensive one but were passed an Ikea as a spare - ended up using it every day as it was so efficient to clean and store

The closer caboo carrier and a ring sling saved my sanity and helped me through the first four months with my velcro baby who refused to settle unless upright.

Then an ergobaby original - which still works for my four year old (in emergencies)

Absolutely loved my Hana baby wrap, wore my DS2 most of the time when he was newborn, meant I could feed while on the go with my older one, also hands free to still do the things I needed to.

I'm expecting DC3 in a few months and I have already washed it ready

I love the look of the Stokke Tripp Trapp chair and cushion as it looks like it could become a family heirloom and will fit in with any interior.

these things were such a game changer! As a parent of a little lady with severe reflux i was worried about bike rides with her behind me on a bike ride. It was expensive but such a good investment, it also encourgaged talks about what we could see and hear. Its always better than looking at my backside too! Wink

www.mumsnet.com/reviews/newborn-beds/the-baby-box

Having my first baby, I honestly didn’t know where to start with buying everything that I needed. The baby box meant that I had I really good start and things that were really necessary rather than lots of random purchases. The box is also great for storing all of your baby products before the baby arrives!
