Having a baby for the first time can be quite a daunting experience, especially when it comes to ensuring you’re fully kitted out with everything you need. What to buy? What not to buy? What actually works? What is actually worthing spending money on? Mumsnet would love you to take a look at the products on our new reviews section and choose your favourite.

Here’s what Mumsnet has to say: “Mumsnet, has relaunched its independent Reviews section as part of its mission to make parents’ lives easier - by helping you choose the best products for pregnancy, babies and toddlers.

The new Reviews section features both new products and Mumsnet user favourites, all tested by real parents in real-life situations (not in a lab). Unlike other reviews sites, brands don't pay to be reviewed; products are selected after extensive research into market bestsellers, expert advice and the opinions of Mumsnet users. During testing, products are pushed to the limit to make sure they will serve new parents well.

There are currently 19 review categories — including travel systems, changing bags, maternity bras and high chairs — each feature a buyers’ guide, and up to five ‘Mumsnet Best’ products. These include the overall winner and winners of more specific sub-categories (e.g. “best for small homes” in the strollers category).”

Whatever your favourite item product is, post the link to it on the thread below and you’ll be in with the chance of winning one of the following prizes:

Thanks and good luck!

This all-in-one has been a godsend over the last few months (it has felt like a very long winter!) It can be worn in the car seat as it isn't very thick or puffy, but keeps my little one warm and fairly dry if it is raining (though not in heavy rain tbh). The sleeves can be folded over the hands and feet, which works well.

Prior to making this purchase I had to put a coat on ds to get him to the car, then take it off before putting him in the car seat, then putting it on again before getting him out of the car - so much faffing. He was a much happier bunny without being messed with so much!

Zazu Lou the night owl light is our surprise baby must have.

Our DS absolutely loves this night light as it comes on if he makes a noise when waking from sleep and lights up the room for him! It was a gift from a friend and a massive surprise hit for us.

I love our Stokke carrier - I didn't manage very well with stretchy wraps (so much material! How do I do it without looking in a mirror? DD feels like she'll drop out!) and this feels so safe and secure. Really, really comfy to wear and is saving my back both around the house and long walks. Love it!

The Snotsucker - doesn’t sound too pleasant but super easy to suck that snot out!

It’s been a godsend over the past few days as my little one has had a cold and is really congested. I usually use a saline spray before using the snot sucker to loosen up the snot.

Cyber child seat for us..... Even our 8 year to old disabled child can sit in this safely and comfortably. Using with a creilling harness it's saved us thousands of pounds from buying a special needs car seat.

This maternity pillow saved my sanity and allowed me to get some sleep after I had been kept awake with leg cramps and pelvis pain from the 2nd trimester. My ds is 3 months and I have been looking out for a highchair for him, going to look into the ikea one seeing how so many people on this thread have recommended it.

www.mumsnet.com/reviews/swaddles/love-to-dream

The love to dream swaddles have been amazing for DS as he likes to sleep with his arms up by his ears! This means he hates having his arms pinned down by traditional swaddles. These ones let him keep his arms up and stay cozy at the same time, and stop him startling himself awake.

100% the nipper!

I had a tandem pushchair for my twins from birth, but now that they're bigger it's a bit heavy and he nipper has changed my life. Brilliant on dog walks too!

www.mumsnet.com/reviews/baby-feeding-bottles/lansinoh-momma

(In combination with both the Lansinoh manual and electric breast pumps)

My daughter is almost ten weeks old, and we now have established breastfeeding, but I was so unwell after I had her that feeding was a huge struggle. I panicked about nipple confusion, about my supply dwindling, and when I was readmitted to hospital when she was two days old, I was worried that our breastfeeding journey was over. Lansinoh products have been amazing for ensuring that she was still getting my breastmilk, and the bottles teat shape means was easily able to transition back to the boob!

My husband and I went out for dinner for the first time since her birth last night, and she fed expressed milk from the bottle with no issues. It has also been good for feeding her during her first cold, where my rather large breasts in combination with her tiny stuffed nose made feeding difficult for her. Brilliant product.

Those biodegradable nappy bags for ....well mucky nappies. They allow for you to change a bum and take it home /nearest bin without leaking or infusing the air with eau de poop.

They also double up for sanitary wear for the bin too. Ingenious!

This, joie swing. I live in a tiny cottage but it has saved my sanity and is well worth the space and cash!
My DD has had terrible reflux since she was tiny and we picked this one because the seat reclines into different positions meaning we could put her in after a feed relatively upright, then lay her down once the milk had settled.
She's still in it now at 6m and I haven't a clue what to do when she grows out of it!
