Hey,
Just wondered if anybody could suggest a private OT in the Lancs area.I have been googling but i can't seam to find any.I would rather pay to see one that somebody can recommend.
I was reading a good book on Dyspraxia and they suggest motor skills clubs. They would be great for helping DS with bike riding and building self esteem.I guess we don't have anything like that around lancs either.
Gonna have to move to the STATES they have allsorts out there!!
Take care and thanks

Hi Nutty

Brenda Wildish she is based in Lytham but will travel. She was on the local news in Feb when they covered the dyspraxia topic. The OT Manager at the Acorn thinks she is fab too.

I know and about 1 and 1/2 grand for a full ASD assessment. Let me know if you are having difficulties finding her contact details and I will dig them out for you.

OO I looked at shine for a private SALT they seemed nice. BW is a Educational Occupational Therapist if that makes a difference at all.

pucca · 02/07/2010 15:16

Was...Yes ds might be seeing the SALT there too hopefully, depending on cost etc.

The OT was brilliant though, really lovely and knows her stuff.

Cost is pretty average (think it was about £100 then add on if mileage was over a certain difference) - I researched a few SALTs before settling on the one I went with and shine were in my top 2.

Hey Mutty so sorry that you are not feeling so good and hope you feel better soon. They are nice at the Acorn but the waiting list after we got discharged from the under 5's service was 5 months for another pre treatment assessment then another 8 months on top. Are you at Clitheroe Health Centre? There used to be a good private OT who used a room there. Maybe worth an ask when you are feeling up to it.

Whoops "Nutty" not Mutty....
