I'd really appreciate emailing it to someone/some people just to get a disinterested view

I'd gladly do it, Katymac, if you think I'd help. Email lou031205 at gmail dot com.

Many thanks

Appreciate that Lou

I'm bumping because someone else may pick up on something else I have missed

I would but I've only done my own once and it's being processed at the moment. I used the Cerebra guidelines because my DD has AS and a lovely friend who knows lots about it checked it and made some changes for me.

If you think you'd want me to look anyway can you send me your email address by private message? I don't really want to broadcast it on here. I don't know how messaging works on MN so let me know if I have to do anything.

I have Cat'ed you but it might take some hours/til tomorrow to go through

Ok. Do I just have to go onto the My Mumsnet page and it will show me there's a message?

I've just looked and can't see anything but that could just be because it's not gone through yet.

coppertop · 27/06/2010 23:21

I've done a few DLA forms but only for ASD. If you think I could be of help then I'm CAT-able or I can CAT you.

coppertop · 27/06/2010 23:23

Al1son - MNHQ will send you an e-mail with KatyMac's message and e-mail address in it so that you can reply to her.

KatyMac · 28/06/2010 07:54

Thanks Coppertop - I have Cat'ed you too

Sorry Al1son, I didn't think to explain - hopefully you will get it today

Nothing from MNHQ yet but will check again later.

Al1son · 28/06/2010 12:08

Just checked. Will look again in a bit.

KatyMac · 28/06/2010 12:15

Yep - I am expecting one too - they must be busy this am

I think CAT's come last

You might also get support with form filling from your social worker if you have one, CAB (Citizens Advice Bureau), you might have a carer's organisation or centre, PRTC (Princess Royal Trust) have several carer's centres around the country, or there may be a disability organisation in your Borough that provides information and perhaps helps disabled people and their carers to fill out forms.

Perhaps you have a parents coffee morning where you can ask other parents in your situation what they did and who might have helped them fill out the forms.

Remember you need to write down the worst case scenario even if that doesn't happen regularly, but there will be days when it is that bad and you will need as much support as possible - so write it down on the form!

Good luck.
