The budget 2010 and DLA

Was panicing today as husband came home and said that in 2013 everyone claiming DLA will have to go to a medical assessment and their case would be reviewed.

Couldnt believe it as fought for it for a year for my son and eventually got it at a tribunal and awarded it till 2014, they even had me in tears at the tribunal. Would be so anoyed to have gone through all that for it to be reassessed.

But panic over as have googled the budget 2010 and it will only be applicable to claimants of working age in a bid to target people who could work and are falsly claiming.

Wondered how they could assess a child with ASD and ADHD when they have every hospital report on my son.

Also what would be the point of a tribunal for it then to be questioned in a medical assessment??

Glad it's just for people of working age- my mum rang me yesterday and told me about the reassessment thing in 2013, she really freaked me out as she said that it would be a random GP doing the assessing. My GP hadn't even heard of DS's condition until DS was born.

One less thing to worry about eh!

I know, it freaked me out as well because I cant see how a random GP can assess my sons ASD and ADHD on one random medical assessment. But i think its only adults as the forms are different. Also with a childs claim you have all the paediatrician reports, occupational ther reports etc so seems more thorough so no need for this assessment
