Hi all i dont often post, but i just wanted to share with you all how wonderful my DDs school are......YES i said WONDERFUL!

My DD is almost 8 has AS and attends a MS school with an IR unit. She has no statement of SEN but has always been given a great deal of support in the classroom. Recently DD has found things at school increasingly stressful and her behaviour in the class room has been very out the norm for her. Last week after a meeting with the head DD now has a place in the IR unit group!!! without at statement!!!! the school are going to fund her place!! . They were going to start in september, but i got a phone call last friday to say they would start her this week (so that it's one less change for her to cope in september) she LOVES IT!! and for the last 2 days has left school with a smile on her face.......chattering about her day! she has never done this i have everything crossed that this is the start of things to come for us! I have big plans for a nice bottle of wine at the end of term for her wonderful head teacher

Fantastic!

Lovely to hear there are some nice, supportive schools out there.

That's lovely, so good to hear about schools who will look at what a child NEEDS instead of muttering about budgets and procedures.
