Colleagues, - do you ever have a moment when you don't have an outstanding letter to write?

I'm on here skiving cos I don't want write the letter complaining about dx delays.

had day at work, then kids and cleaning and now want to chill out.

StarOfValkyrie · 21/06/2010 21:35

I'm drinking wine, and 'getting around to' 2 emails and a massive letter. The letter is 2 months overdue. The emails 2 weeks.

I feel like you are all my collegues on some massive project.

I'd love to collect all your paperwork and letters and send them to Michael Gove all on the same day.

He'd probably just laugh evily and then keep quaffing wine made from the tears of SN parents.

pillsthrillsandbellyaches · 21/06/2010 21:45

no.

always letters/emails to write.

never any time due to so many meetings...

IndigoBell · 21/06/2010 22:10

Colleagues LOL

Seriously though, joining this forum has changed my outlook - made me more aware and assertive and outraged. Not exactly sure if this is a good thing. I'm certainly more stressed and worried than I was before...

If I disappear from here it will be to lower my stress levels.

No DH is scanning in our birth certs as we have to show them as evidence to get data protection info apparently and I am composing a complaint about the consultant paed.

StarOfValkyrie · 21/06/2010 22:15

Oh Indigo that's not good. I can only apologise. We do have good moments here sometimes too. Did you see Lingles Limerick thread?

I konw what you mean about being more stressed, but actually, to some extent it helps me be less stressed, because without it I'd be frustrated that ds was being failed, but not have a clue what to do about it. I come here, post an issue and get several responses about possible action, or sometimes just a 'don't be ridiculous, stop getting drawn into the little details and pay attention to the bigger picture' etc.

I always have outstanding paperwork, as well as ds who has sn I have two foster kids one of whom also has sn.

The paperwork is endless and taking over the house!!!

siblingrivalry · 21/06/2010 22:28

Last year I wrote a ten page letter/dossier to complain about our treatment at CAMHS -and I copied in every 'expert' we had seen recently.

I was soooo angry (long story) that I fired it off in one afternoon -didn't even stop for a cuppa!

However, I currently have umpteen emails etc to deal with and I just keep putting it off.

I like Tesco and Asda recycling fabric bags for the files and paper work

I think my LA and school must roll their eyes when it's time to give parental views/advice. I save up incidents in my diary then produce pages and pages of examples.

AnnaBafana · 22/06/2010 11:24

I MUST MUST MUST write a bitchy strongly-worded letter to the Exclusions Officer at our LEA today, and one to the headteachers beeyatches school governors.

And I need to write a letter to the OT telling her that she is a lazy cow I am unhappy with the lack of communication between her and the school/us.

Fucking fuck. My fingers are tired from typing angry letters.

merrymouse · 22/06/2010 11:31

I can only imagine being in the situation of having no outstanding paperwork if we had decided to opt out of the whole system and go and live on a remote island.

Haven't decided yet between the Pacific or Outer Hebrides.

claw3 · 22/06/2010 12:21

In my spare time, which is not spent letter writing, appealing or complaining, i attend appointments, perform therapy or resettling ds to sleep!

Luckily my two other children are much older and only need me for lifts and money now.

DP ive forgotten what he looks like, im sure he had hair before i started writing letters!

AnnaBafana · 22/06/2010 12:25

Dh has started pimping me out to friends as 'angry letter writer'. I heard him say to a friend complaining about his bank the other day 'You should talk to my Mrs - she's really into slating people in authority'. Gee, thanks darling!

My dad is the same. 'They are only doing their job. Don't be so pushy'

But he represents the rest of the world, who just have no idea how barbaric the system is and the level of incompetence allowed to go unchecked. There are 'best practice','guidelines' and 'government initiatives' published over and over to demonstrate to the ignorant how much good is being done in the field of SN, but the reality is they are not 'policy' and rarely are they 'law'.

LA's don't even read them, unless it is them that can get some funding for a one off pilot scheme that they can then publish over and over to their residents.

Sealed With A 'Judas' Kiss

Though it's gonna be a long,
Stressful summer.
But LA, I promise you this,
I'll send you all my hate,
Every day in a letter,
with a Judas kiss!

Oh the sun'll come out tomorrow,
bet your bottem dollar that tomorrow,
they'll be sun

Just thinking about tomorrow,
clears away the cobwebs and the sorrow,
til theres none,

When I think of a day,
that's grey
and lonely
I just pick up my chin,
and grin
and say.....

Oh you'll do as you're told, tomorrow,
You'll be more accountable tomorrow,
and you'll be less bold

Just fucking about, tomorrow,
will be unacceptable and cause sorrow
you can't hold.

And I'll think of the past
and laugh
'You phonies'
and I'll make sure I pin
you down and say......

Yesterday,
All my troubles seemed here to stay,
Now it looks like they have gone away,
Oh I belive in tomorrow!
