South Gloucestershire Resource bases - any experiences?

Hello everyone, new to the site so hope its ok to ask this - my son has aspergers and dyspraxia and the lea have suggested it might be appropriate for him to go to a specialist resource base attached to a local school. I wondered if anyone had any experience of the two in the area. Many thanks

The two I am aware of are : Filton and Hanham, which one do you have any experience of? Thanks

Oh, thats interesting, wasn't aware of the one at Brimsham, the LEA are wanting us to go to the Filton one but you aren't the only person who has heard negative things about it, feel sick to the pit of my stomach over it as hearsay can't be used as a defence.

Riven, what provision does the resource base in Brimsham cover. The two I have mentioned are for speech and language difficulties. My child has aspergers and dyspraxia, but I would be really interested in hearing about Brimsham - is your child happy there?

Rang Brimsham today, the SEN sounded absolutely fabulous - the resource base is for physically disabled pupils which wouldn't include my son, but the school sounds great. We live in Stoke Gifford which is the major problem facing us on the Filton front. We wouldn't qualify for transport, and getting him to Yate would be a bit of an issue - though admittedly not impossibel. I'm almost too scared to name a school, in case I get boxed into the Filton option.
