Yes, that's right, two vacancies have come up and I am going to put my name forward.

Won't that be fun!

We got the EP report back yesterday and the Head saw me and told me it would be in DS's book bag but she must apologise for all the typos it contained . No other comment.

It is quite helpful (as these things go - he's well managed within school blah blah) but EP did see him lose focus, end up under the table at circle time and is telling school they need WHOLE SCHOOL training on sensory issues - all teachers, TAs and MDSAs.

Now that explains the Head's face.

Debs40 for Governor - Yes we can!

Yeah go for it. Good Luck.

At least your head talks to you, mine looks the other way and ignors me when he sees me coming!!

Go for it Debs!
I am a Governor and really enjoy it. Lots of paperwork to go through - but you're used to that already! I've found it interesting to see all that goes on behind the scenes. There were 2 of us elected at the same time and funnily enough we both have SN dc's.
You'd be a great SEN Governor in my view and all that legal expertise will be invaluable to the school I'm sure

pmsl. HT's only comment to you was 'typos' and yet her whole school has come under fire.

Is she implying the recommendations have been made by an idiot!?

And good luck with the SG application. Is it for SEN or another role?

debs40 · 16/06/2010 13:28

I know Star, we were saying it was obviously the bitchiest thing she could think of saying...miaow get the grammar on you!

Tis just a general vacancy so don't know if it was anything to do with SEN - don't even know who the SEN Governor is - that would be something to raise!!

What do we want?

Accountability

When do we want it?

Now!!

What do we want?

Better pastoral care

When do we want it now!

What do we want?

Real partnership with parents

When do we want it?

NOW!!!!!!!

Debs at our school you are eased into the Governor role gently. We get buddied up with experienced governor to learn the ropes. The different roles are reviewed and allocated annually e.g Yr 3 Governor,Maths gov.etc.. Our SEN governor said that I should do it as I know more about it than her and know the Sencop chapter & verse. Not sure if I want to do this while ds is still there though. Training courses are useful. Found out that the school should have an annual SEN Review which is published and distributed to parents so will be raising that at next meeting.

Wow Debs, you would make a great governor, you have my vote.

I think every school should have a governor with sn knowledge. Go for it wooooooo!

Oooh, ta. Even if there are more people than vacancies, I will get a chance to air my views about being accountable, transparent and working with parents.

I shall come to you guys for my manifesto if it comes to that!!
