DLA form, should it take 11 weeks to respond?

I completed a new DLA form to report changes in my DS sleep (not much going on) and they wrote back saying it would take 11 weeks to respond. I have waited 6 now, should I ring and nudge them or should I be patient? Any thoughts.

Thanks, I wasn't sure if the election had got in the way of box ticking.

Yes they might have wrote asking for reports and they don't chivy them along for least month

It takes them 12 days from recieving the form in the post, to actually get someone to look at it .

Amazingly enough, it only took them a couple of days to decide on my sons award after I complained about them not arranging one of their Dr's to come & see him as I requested.

I had DS' first DLA paid into my bank after they'd had the form for something like seven working days. I hadn't even had a letter saying he was entitled to it at that point.

I was so amazed I had a thread about it because I couldn't believe what I was seeing

Hope you hear from them soon.

I would ring and ask for the no. for the dept actually dealing with it and make sure they have got it. My DS1's papers had actually gone missing but were showing on the computer system that they were being dealt with so when I rang the general enquiry line was told it was in hand when it in fact was not.

I had a letter today saying sorry they were taking so long but they would deal with it asap. wasn't that nice of them! DLA has been such a lifeline for us as a family that I am a bit stressed about registering changes just in case they decide to make changes, if you know what I mean. Thanks for all the responses.
