Yep - most of the time you wouldn't know DS has ASD but when he looses it he is a different person - sounds almost like a wild animal growling

DS2 only does it to DS1 - he growls at him! DS1 hates it. I'm not sure whether he's doing it to try to engage him (he often smiles at the same time) or whether he's trying to imitate DS1's 'cross voice'. Poor Ds1 - he very rarely gets angry with his brother, but when he does, Ds2 laughs and growls back - which makes Ds1 even angrier!

Yes, my DS too. Lowers his head and does a sort of warning low growl. Always a sign that emotions are too much for him. When really stressed will also retreat into only making animal noises and sometimes crawling rather than walking.

Thank you.. Ds2 growls .. It's really primal... Glad ( in the nicest way of putting it) he's not the only one.
And it's stress that sets it off.
