About 18 months ago we went swimming with DD1 and DD2. Getting DD1 out of the pool was horrific, and the screams as we were trying to get her changed, were awful. It was so traumatic (yes, really) that we haven't been since.
Today, we decided to try again, and took DDs 1, 2, & 3. We cunningly got them changed into their swimwear in the car, so that we could just scoot them into the pool.
DD1 did really well It brought a tear to my eye watching her haphazard doggy paddle with a grin from ear to ear across her face.
Getting her out was still tricky, she escaped our grasp several times (slippery fish, that one ), and kept saying "I haven't finished yet. I didn't have a go". But, the promise that as she was such a good girl we could come again, and that we would get a treat, and tell Nanny & Grandad what a good girl she was, seemed to work.
She tried to escape back to the pool a few times, but we won.
