.. the whole family get to sit together?

I have tried, but they are trying to put dd2 and 1 adult in carriage A and the rest of us in carriage E.

Who do I enlist to help get this changed? I have already emailed the rail company "contacts" address but I worry it will get lost in the morass of complaints so I think I need a name and job title to get somewhere.

Any advice please?

If you're booking through Virgin trains, ring Journeycare, they can book wheelchair spaces and companion seats through them. They can also book tickets over the phone. I've used them when travelling with my friend H and her chair and they were brilliant. Also arranged a nice person to help us get onto the train and bring us a ramp and things Most other train operators will have something similar.

I've got the ramp and wheelchair space, but the problem seems to be that I can't get all 5 of us in one carriage!

So one of us will be doing all the tube-feeds/etc for the whole 90mins journey.

Make sure you keep referance number for complaint when they forget the ramp because they do

Might be worth going to a local train station (at a quiet time) and talking to someone about what can be done. It's much easier than on the phone. It doesn't sound an unreasonable request.

Well, I got a phone call today and it should apparently all be sorted! I wait with interest!

I needed the "Assisted Travel" arm of the train company, who have now arranged our seating so we can be together.
