Reports in early - decision early (SA again!)

We're approaching the end of first three months for SA - I know for a fact that all the reports bar one are already in. We've been told we'll get a decision on whether a statement will be given at the end of June (they've already added another week on to the 26 week deadline, something we'll take up with them if there's a problem ) but If I can chivvy the outstanding report along, is there any reason why the LEA would wait till the end of June or could we get them to give us a decision before then?

you can always ask, but I wouldn't hold your breath!

do you have a case officer? I ended up phoning mine daily to see whether she had emailed reports/spoken to who she said she would/etc

I expect she got very fed up with it

we did manage ot get our final statement early, but d1's proposed statement was easily 3 months late, so not sure if the difference was my phoning them constantly and telling them stuff they didn't know I knew or not

Hmm, silver, I suspect this will be the case here, too... but you can always dream

yes, I would agree with SM - I am convinced we only got dd1's final statement early because they knew there wasn't a snowball's chance in hell that we'd take them up on it (it named a school we had already withdrawn dd1 from) and so wouldn't have to pay.

OTOH, we waited 3 weeks for LA to change one sentence on the stateement, when they offered to settle withut tribunal - this, of course was ot delay the date at which they would have ot start paying... (now have the statement, but when school called ot find out how to go about billing them, no-one was available )

Thanks for your replies, I think you are probably right, Starlight, they're going to drag it out as long as poss. aren't they?

silverfrog, that's awful. I keep thinking I'm a hardened cynic, but when I hear about these cases, it still has the capacity t o make me feel gobsmacked.
