hello there anybody around that may be able to help me... i think it is terrible my grandosn been turned down.

this is his story
he was born with cctga- this is where the heart is the wrong way round, he has pulomary stenosis and an atrial shunt. He also has a bowel problem where he is on a laxative of 10 ml twice daily and another medice too similar called senna. He also has diurectics as just before christmas he went into heart failure so the other medicoines which there are two twice daily drain the fluid from the body.

On top of this he has athma and has to use his inhaler at least twice if not three times in the night and about the same during the day.

H eis slow to feed and can take up to an hour and cries alot due to the constipation as even with both laxatives only goes once aweek and we have been refered to a specialist where we go tomorrow as they think he may have a bowel cyst.

do you think i should reapply or not as got 14 dys to do so.

thanks people i appreciate it.

Hi Crazycrew,

Sorry that your grandson has had so many problems.

Are you able to say how old he is? FOr the DLA he must need significantly more care than a child the same age, so it is quite difficult to get for a very young child as any very young child needs so much care.

Could you perhaps write out for yourself a day diary then compare to how a normal child day is .fir example does his heart condtion prevent him doing normal things

Gettling dla for asthma is very hard ds2. Only got his after he started wearing a infusion pump then we had to appeal as obviously this then controlled the asthma p
