Im about to claim CA for DS1 but the directgov site isn't clear. I understand there is a carers premium (about £30) on top of income support, but how does this work? Will I be paid my IS + £30 carers premium with an underlying entitlement to CA, or do they give you the CA, then take that amount off your IS? Can anyone explain? DS1 receives middle rate DLA.
Thanks

You will receive the CA and then they deduct so much from your IS.

That's what they do with mine.
