My husband of 10 years leaves for Afghanistan tomorrow for 6 months. We have 3 beautiful children together. 2 have autism/dyrpraxia. Our 7 month old baby has gastric flu

I have no family/help nearby but lots of friends to brighten my day.

Please give me the strength to say goodbye to him tomorrow without getting upset in front of the children.

Thankyou. Im sure you will be great support for me on this journey xxx

Gosh, you do have alot on your plate.

I hope your DH stays safe and well, and you start stress free. How old are your other DC's?

JAKEJEM · 18/04/2010 17:16

Good luck for tomorrow. Post and let us know how you get on. How worrying for you. It is so hard to be on your own but I'm glad you have friends around. They can be more help than family sometimes...at least they choose to be with us!

JAKEJEM · 19/04/2010 09:31

Thankyou for all your kind messages. Bitter sweet because DH's flight has been cancelled today, which gives us more time together, but on the other hand soooooo difficult for the children as they were prepared for Daddy leaving today (or as prepared as they can be)
It is now just a waiting game

Oh, and DS has now got the vomiting bug

Look on the bright side though, at least DH is here to help me clean it up!!!!!! (Hope he doesnt get it now!)

So, we are just waiting, and cuddling and trying to stay happy

Thanks for your support xxxxxx

Make the most of every extra minute together. I hope that the unexpected delay doesn't cause your DCs enough stress to make the additional time more difficult.

Fingers crossed that he gets to stay long enough for everyone to be recovered before he leaves.

(((((hugs)))))

Stay strong!!

Sending lots of love to your family today, hope that you enjoy thses extra hours. Do they have any idea when they might be able to go?

Hope DS is better soon and that you dont come down with it too.

And me xxx

Al1son · 25/04/2010 22:34

More hugs from here too. That must have been a very hard week.

Be sure to let us know how he's getting on when you hear from him.

You'll cope because you have to for the sake of the children. Keep focussing on November when you get him back again.

Take good care of yourself.

thederkinsdame · 26/04/2010 10:08

Another hand of support here, Shade. You know there is always a listening ear on here if things get tough. Hope your DH stays safe. November will be here before you know it.
