Attended 2nd DLA tribunal on Monday and received decision today.

Ds has been awarded lower rate care and lower rate mobility and it has been back dated to February 2009 yay!

Bit confused as decision notice states care/mobility has been awarded from 6/2/09 to 5/2/2011. Why isnt it ongoing, do i have to apply again?

Yes, you have to reapply every few years( it varies) in case your DC is miraculously cured and you forget to tell them

Thanks, silly me for thinking something might actually be that easy!

Feel relieved that all the appealing is over, but a bit disappointed that he didnt get the middle rate care. Seems the only mention in reports about his sleep (or lack of it) wasnt mentioned until December 2009 when melatonin was prescribed for his 'long standing sleep problems'. Apparently this is not enough evidence to meet night time requirements!

I thought you had come over all Scottish for a second, picking bairns

Applying for a SA seemed a bit more constructive than complaining to the schools Board of Governors, oh what choice eh!
