Does anyone know of where I could go in herts or north london to have my 7 year old dd assessed for dyslexia. Also teacher thinks she may have auditory problems.

Hi there, contact Dyslexia Action (google for website) for more information.

The teacher needs to get the senco to refer for hearing/vision test (standard tests) and then to refer to SALT for assessments of phonological processing, receptive/expressive understanding and for short term memory abilities. There may be other areas that the SALT wishes to examine.

It would be worth asking for an appointment with the teacher and the senco to discuss the difficulties your daughter is experiencing and how the school wishes to address them.

Good luck.
