I got a phone call the other week and turned it down ,I get flu most years but just take contacs don't know whats in these jabs[got flamed by my sister for saying no to it]my dd who works in the local hospital has been told by one of the health care professionals that its been blown out of proportion and that no more people have died from swine flu than die every year from the usual seasonal flu, didn't surprise me.

fanjoforthemammaries7850 · 10/02/2010 08:03

I had the jab, the day it came out actually, as I was in for my seasonal jab anyway.

r3dh3d · 10/02/2010 09:16

No. People in DD1's classroom have already gone down with it months ago, so she's been exposed.

Next season, when it is out in time, I probably will.

troutpout · 10/02/2010 09:22

Had it already.
Dd and ds already had the flu i think

meltedmarsbars · 10/02/2010 10:34

Had it and I'm fine - if I get bad flu dd2 will have to go to hosp to be looked after.

anniebear · 10/02/2010 10:43

yes had it with my DD last week, arm blummin hurt for 4 days after

I heard that it will come back again, so had it done

glittery · 10/02/2010 11:20

i wasnt going to bother but when i took ds for his Celvapan (egg free version) they asked me if i wanted it too as the bottle was open.
side effect wise me and ds both had a stomach ache for a few hours after but other than that we have both been fine. my arm was a bit red around the site but not sore or anything.

All the staff at ds's old nursery had the Pandemrix one and most of them were quite ill and off work the next day.

saintlydamemrsturnip · 10/02/2010 11:53

no.

2shoes · 10/02/2010 11:55

oh dear, I still can't decide....

Had it and I was fine - except for feeling like I'd gone 10 rounds with Frank Bruno, constently punching me in the same spot - OUCH!!!!! DS has just been offered it but he's off into hospital next tuesday for surgery so I'm not sure if he should get it before, after or at all. Looking into the pro's and con's .

muttonchop · 10/02/2010 12:05

I've had it, ditto DH and DD1 as well as DD2 who's in the 'at risk' category. We were all fine.

thederkinsdame · 10/02/2010 12:25

Haven't decided yet.

vjg13 · 10/02/2010 12:35

Yes, have had it at work already. Also persuaded my husband to have it too. Did have a sore arm for about 2 days but felt fine.

Swine flu numbers are decreasing in our area at the moment and they are about to tail off the vaccination prgramme at the hospital where I work.

onlyjoinedforoffers · 10/02/2010 12:37

no and ds2 has not received it either

pagwatch · 10/02/2010 12:46

no. and children not having it either.

I might be more likely if swine flu numbers were increasing rather than steadily deceasing.

Actually I probably wouldn't

cyberseraphim · 10/02/2010 14:35

No one has offered it to me but DS1 has no health issues that an NT 5 year old would not have so not sure why I would need it more than anyone else - DS2 has had it and cats are getting a flu jab this afternoon !

Sidge · 10/02/2010 21:01

DD2 and I have both had it with no problems.
