Special Needs

Last month we questioned Baroness Warnock over her sudden U-turn on special schools. We introduced her to Maria Hutchings, mother of 10-year-old John Paul (who has autism), who has fought a constant battle with her LEA to keep her son in a special needs school. Since appearing on our show they have now joined forces and are campaigning together to keep special schools open. Today we are joined again by Maria who has recently received news that funding to her sons school has been reduced and MP David Cameron who is also campaigning for parents to be given the option.

Thanks, RTKM.

I don't usually watch "This Morning" but I was quite impressed with Phillip Schofield and the way he pointed out just how hard they'd tried to get someone from the government etc on to the proramme.

You're welcome

Missed the beginning but felt sorry for Maria Hutchings as she had obviously really psyched herself up and looked a bit teary and shaky, I thought, but very determined. You could tell she was seething when that smug bloke was spouting his 'inclusion' rubbish and dh and I cheered when Phillip Schofield spoke up against him. Shame we missed the film about the special school but thanks RTKM.
