sooooooooooooo, what help are you having over the six week period?

I have been offered 3 days playscheme place, which i have to pay for, provide transport, packed lunch etc for. 1 of the days is also a school day (!!) and I have asked to change but no reply, so acvtually I have 2 days playscheme place thats it.

My Mother has decided to come down in September instead of during the holidays for a week

Mil said she will come but as of yet we havent organised anything concrete.

Please enlighten me to what help you will be having

I still get my crossroads helper for 3 hours a week. WOW what shall I do with myself!

we cant even go on the waiting list for crossroads as it is CLOSED manic laughter you understand

Ds1 has got a place at a playscheme for 2 weeks (mornings only). If he can get funding for a support worker ds2 will be going to the playscheme for one week.

I don't think the portage worker will be coming during the holidays but I'm not 100% sure tbh.

That's about it. Dh can't get any time off work during the summer holidays so it's basically just me on my own for the rest of the time.

One of my friends, who lives just on the boundaries of another council, tried to find out about Crossroads. They said they would come out and help, but couldn't fund it. From what I remember they were going to charge something like £12 an hour.

We were offered a free place for Ellie at a SN Play scheme for four days a week for the 4 weeks of August. All I have to pay is 50p towards snacks.

She can go from 10-3. I thought it was really good, but have just put her in two sessions a week. I can do some things with just Grace then, although she is gutted as she wants to go with Ellie!!!

My Mum and Sister may have the girls for a bit for me but I shall have to ask, would be lovely to be offered!!

I am now used to having a break each week as the girls normally go to play group, dreading not having that bit of time.

Although wait till September when they start full time School, I will be on here crying with boredom and loneliness! lol

I've got J on a special needs playscheme for four weeks, two days a week, 10-3 each day. I could have had five weeks but we're on holiday ourselves for the last week. I'm really pleased with it - I met with the women who run the scheme this week and they were lovely, very sensible, ordinary people. They never have more than eight children at a time and that's between six staff. Only £4 per day too.

Best of all, a lovely online friend who I've never met in person before has offered us a few days staying with her in her cottage in Wales. How kind is that?! She has a big dog who loves to play football so J is very excited about that.

Other than that, I've scanned through local authority activities, made loads of phone calls to friends and arranged things with their kids, and I've got the whole lot timetabled and stuck on the wall so J knows what's happening and when. I haven't got many days left to fill now, so it's not looking as bleak as it was a few weeks ago.

ds has been at a holiday club this week just mornings. It is run by a Christian group and is aimed at all kids. Fortunately he was put with a woman who has worked with autistic people. There was rather a lot of singing, dancing etc most of which was beyond him but he seemed to enjoy it. There is another one in a different town at the beginning of Aug so we'll see.

Other than that nothing, AND I am having a baby!!!!

none, except my dh being with the children when I am at work and maybe 2 days at a holiday club, out of 6 weeks as dh can't tke 3 weeks off and have got 2 1/2 weeks this summer.

Have you applied for dp's Fio?

It's taken a year for SS to organise but I am getting 18 hours a week during hols. I've employed a SALT student who was a nanny for 10 years- she sounds ideal. Hoping she'll organise me a bit

I'm using some spare dps for ds1 to go to the mumsnetter superchildminder First holidays I'm not dreading- definitely worth applying for dps

For the first time we were offered a chance to apply for a sn playscheme place. I rang the lady advising about the activities and not one was suitable for my ds.

So as usual I will rely on mum, eldest son and visits from sn friends who also have nothing suitable.

we were refused dp's on the grounds that they couldn't understand why ds2 would qualify, not being disabled enough (cp, 4 1/2, cant stand, walk, w/c based)

Well dd has been funded for 2 full days throughout the holidays. It makes me mad at how easy we got this as there are obviously children on here who need it far more than dd

We are also going to a stay and play on Tuesday for all families of sn kids.

I feel very guilty, DS's holiday is only 3 weeks long (thank you god). First two weeks on an autism-specific play scheme, same group who do his Saturday club. Its 10am-3pm and about £22 per day (welll worth it). Third week we have been offered 3 days at local council playcentre (they also do outings) which is 10am-3pm too and FREE plus transport if I want it. Will also continue to get my new level of DPs of 10hrs a week, haven't asked for extra during hols, I think we're well covered Mind you, no family help and DD to look after too but still

Ds and DD1 are going to 8 sessions at the local SN playscheme and I will have DD1s 6 hours respite too.

i thought i was doing well, but I am @ davros as she is leaving her ds somewhere. bitchbag prof davrois. there's one sn playscheme in the city but I don't think they could cope with ds

no bh, his behaviour is too challenging (the playscheme takes all sorts- eg children with cp- they're just not set up for autism- the environment isn't even right- too noisy, too many open doors etc). Also they do things like craft activities, and frankly there's no point even trying to do craft activities with ds.

Swett FA here unless I want to drive 30 miles one way, drop J off at 10, drive 30 miles back home and then be back for 3 to pick him up....at the cost of £25 per session with no lunch etc provided.

I cant afford it now after DH's accident as he is not going to be working all summer. At least with the two of us around things will be a bit easier.

Also at Karen's planning skills. I wish I could be that organised.
