Hi my son is 19 months and has a number of problems . I've been looking for a cot for him as he is going to break his leg in the cot he is in , i've found that has see through sides that cost about £270 alone and i also need a room divider that cost £100 as my house is open plan and he is rolling and is goin near the cooker . I've tried getting help from his social worker but he keeps telling me there is no funds for anything . For his cot i had a nurse out who said it could take a year to get anything if i'm lucky . Was thinking about putting in for a grant with dhss as we have had to put into charities to get him equipment for his needs , i'm a single parent and cant afford the stuff her really needs at the moment . Has anyone else been lucky with getting a grant from dhss before ?

well yes i had a grant, you only can have very little in bank, and they did give us enough cot, bedding and a washer not what i told them though they found the cheapest you could find and told me i could have that so i did . tbh i am thinking again of applying for a carpet for dd bedroom. as it was last year. good luck
