I also live in herts and like you my C do not have ASD I have found things to be OK, got statement with out any problems. I thibk you where right in your earlier post that if you have a recognised 'condition'/problem, then the help is easier to get. I have had Physio, OT, S&L, pre school adviser with out to much hassle. There are also a few support groups around and if you want swimming you are not to far from the twon you mentioned earlier (posh Spice) where they have free swim sessions for Special needs on a sunday afternoon.

Phoenix4725 · 15/02/2010 08:03

thank you

oh thats intresting to know , is the session limted to Sn only as at very least will have dd with me and ds3 obviously.

Will cross my fingers only thing Drs and me all agreed on was that ds did not seem be on the ASd spectrum.Physio in ESSex was crap once a year review and no programme used to have pay one to get decent advice , ot was even worse

ds1 and ds2 are old enough stay home

Well I think pub might be a give away

The place to borrow is in Welwyn but anyon from herts can borrow.

CDC have a huge waiting list, and are a real PITA. Only one to aviod that I know is Dr Raynee (sp?) she blames everything on the parents and has told 2 friends of our their children dont have ASD, but that they need to go on a parenting course, only for someone else to see the child and dx ASD

There is some SN groups in the area, and a few run out of my work place, so if you want to drop me an email can let you know.
We also have SN health visitor here, and she is great.

Believe it or not, I don't think I've come across many of them! Dr Battacharya before they were all at school, Dr Salter now for DS2. Have come across Dr Dalton. Meh. Helen Morgan....MEH!! Also now see Dr Turner and Dr Tillet for DD one is Paed, one is cardio not sure which is which . HOW come you get a referral to Dr Sirah for asthma? DS2 has almost died through his asthma 3 times, has it very badfly, all we got offered was a telephone conversation 3 yrs ago with ashtma NURSE. As for Murkja, does he deal with hypermobility syndrome, or just 'more severe' conditions? Am trying to get more help for my DC's as I don't think they are being seen by all the people they should be IYSWIM. Also see a dietician wrt DS1, but can't remember her name, or the consultant that we saw twice wrt his coeliac, he then passed us onto the dietician. Also used to see Frank in orthotics for DS2's piedro's but they've cut the funding, and DS2 hasn't been given any Piedro's since he started reception 15 months ago. Despite still needing them. But Frank is lovely.

CardyMow · 15/02/2010 11:48

GAH! Spellings! badfly- badly, ashtma-asthma.

Phoenix4725 · 15/02/2010 13:39

Murkja is female Dr and no she only tends to deal with cp
Dr Turner deals with hearts , they all have their own intrests.I will be asking ds new gp to refer to London for hypermoblity syndrome but might talk to neuro first

ds2 and Ds3 are under Sirah.Has ds had regular hospital amissions that require a instay know he does not get involved till after at least 3 admissions.Maybe ask Gp tp do a referal

Ds2 was averaging 3 times a week at least and ds3 had several instays and he took under his wing as knew us.

Infact ds2 wore a ventolin pump for 18 months 24 hrs day

DD sees him as is ntrest is immnology and chest and she has little immunnity and has genetic chest condtion

Yes Frank is lovely but he struggles with funding and time .We now Go to Dorset orthotics not cheap but well worth it as in time/experaince and quality

Christ, DS2 has open door with children's ward for his asthma, has been admitted 3-4 times a YEAR on average. Thinking I will ask GP for a referral for that one!

Phoenix4725 · 16/02/2010 08:01

i am suprised that no one has refered him to Dr sirah especially with a open door policy .He can come across as abrut but I credit him with saving ds2 and dd lifes.when dd was young i begged him to help he was one that agreed dd had problems she did no bloddy immune system
