We have had all the paper work in the post this morning fr the appeal. No surprises in there, they havent asked for morew info from anyone.
So looks like i will have to go to apeal board, tell me what I need to know??

We have another apointment with Peads in 2 weeks, so have that info and another report from school as things are getting worse.

Do I take DD1 with me? Do I have to stand there and be questioned? any help would be great

Don't take DD1. You sit at a table with the three people opposite you and (possibly, if they bother to send one) a DWP person next to you. It's all pretty informal, I thought, and my (2 - the first got adjourned to ask the consultant one further question) panel people were very very nice!

As long as you have got evidence to back up why your dd meets the criteria for whichever bit you're applying for, it will be easy. If you don't have 'external' evidence, there is still a good chance if you explain your experiences to the panel clearly and link it to the criteria.

It wasn't as bad as I thought it would be!

We didn't need to go to appeal panel as whatever the Paed put in her letter seemed to do the trick for us. We were re-assessed with very little problem even though we were outside the appeal time.

Good Luck

Yes, they might give in before, unless yours is like mine was and run by an incompetent decision-maker! Plus mine took so long to get to Tribunal, they knew they'd owe me thousands in back-pay if I won, so guess they thought it was worth a gamble!

Never mind, the backpay and compensation from the DWP was worth it...loved that apology letter too.

well it made me a bit when they based their first turn down on the fact that DD1 is doing well in school, as in maths and english BUT it did say everything to support us about needing to know, planning ahead and needing to be talked into trying new things. Oh well, hard hat on and ready I guess. I have somoene from the herts money advice unit coming too, so hope they help too
