i've applied in the past for holidays but was put off by the fact you have to use haven we've got a tourer and those sites aren't suitable for my son so we just didn't apply again.

glittery · 10/01/2010 19:40

you could take the cash option and book somewhere suitable for the tourer?

5inthebed · 10/01/2010 19:46

My friend who goes to haven books it through Thomas cook so mist be how she gets £600.

I have applied twice. The first time for bunk beds and fencing (at old house) and they gave me some towards a holiday too.

The second time they gave me a huge amount for securing garden, and making it safe and usable. I cried.

ah sorry phoenix according to the motability website....

Driving Lessons: if aged between 16 and 24, and in receipt of the Higher Rate Mobility Component, you may be eligible for help towards the cost of driving lessons.

altho im pretty sure ive heard a few older people say that they've had driving lessons for their childs car?
might be worth a phone call to customer services 0845 456 4566

You dont have to take Haven or Thomas Cook vouchers, you can apply for a cash grant instead

This is from the family fund website....

"If neither of these two options are suitable for your family or you have already arranged your holiday will need to send us details about the holiday you are planning and where possible, a copy of your holiday booking confirmation when you apply. The grant value you receive for a self-planned holiday grant is smaller than the holiday park and travel agent grants."

If you earn too much you can still register with familyfund extra, they offer discounts for HAVEN & other places.
