Off to hospital with DD

DD was on 6.5mls of epilim, then she had a drop attack so went to 7mls on 23rd december.

Last few days hasn't seemed right. Kept her off preschool. Yesterday and today she is finding it hard to finish sentences. She says the first word or two, then starts again, and again, and again... I asked her if she felt ok, and she said no. I asked her if it was her tummy or her head, and she said head, although hard to know if she understands.

So I phoned hospital, and they want to see her at 2pm.

Does that sound like seizure activity, to you? She has had some absent episodes, but with everything else, it is hard to know if she is distracted, seizuring, or just ignoring us

Back now. Possibly viral illness setting her threshold lower. Will review her if she has further drops/absences/episodes. Might need to increase the valproate or bring in a second drug.

Thanks msb & mmb!

yuk! Illness always makes me more likely to have seizures. I'm struggling with it right now as DS1 has kindly shared his germs with me, and I am fighting an ear infection and a nasty cold. AGAIN. I'm having the ....brain farts...(not finding the right word, tailing off mid sentence thingy)...a lot today. Hope things get better at your end.
