DS and his forever repetition...arghhhhh!!!!

It's driving me nuts!
Atm, he is hooked on the wii, and is constantly saying 'i'm Mariooo' or 'i'm sonic' or he is humming the tune of the game and some of the sounds effects. He does not act it out as such, although sometimes when he says 'i'm mario' he will jump up and start running widly, but he is always repeating the same stuff!
Same thing with questions, such as when DH was putting a new unit for the living room, DS was eyeing it suspiciously and must have asked DH at least 20 times in the afternoon "what you're doing daddy?" to which DH replies i'm putting up the new unit.
It is the same with everything, he cannot ask once he has to do lots of times , sometimes asking me then DH , then DS1 , then back again
He is 4 and goes balistic with lights switches , on and off, pressing the same buttons on his musical toys over and over,....
DS simply likes repetition! and it is irritating at times.

Yep can symapthise. DS is also hooked on the wii with mario Kart. He also copies the characters voices, sound effects and music.

He also asks the same questions again and again but is getting better I have to say. I think as his understanding is improving the questioning is dropping slightly.

Am expecting it to go through the roof come Monday when he starts school though.

I do find it very irritating I have to say, am learning to block it out a bit more lately

hi mysonben,

Ooh it's irritating isn't it! My son used to do this too.

Re the repetition of questions I'll answer the question once, and then when asked again I'll say to him 'what did I say?'. He has remembered perfectly well and will repeat my answer back to me (grrr). I'll then just ignore any more constant questions.

Drives me to bloody distraction! I get this from DS2 6yo - only just acceptable, but I also get it from DD 11yo which just drives me ruddy bonkers!!
