I'm in love with melatonin, first night went well.

Managed to get melatonin from the pead yesterday for both dd's. Last night i gave it to dd2 (but not dd1), i put them both to bed at 7.30, usually dd1 falls asleep before dd1, last night dd2 fell asleep within half an hour (even though i was told it would take an hour to kick in), dd1 was awake for over an hour. I think i will try it on dd1 tonight .

Dd2 still woke in the night and was awake early this morning but it was so nice to have her asleep before 8pm.

Thank you all for your great advice, i would not have pushed for melatonin if it wasn't for MN.

dear marne
please keep us updated about melatonin as it has been offered to us for rubbish sleeping 15 mo old. does it affect day time moods? little one is so sweet natured and tries so hard with his physio but is often too tired because of poor sleeping. want him refreshed for physio but not so sleepy he can't be a**d. Hope it keeps working for you

Hurray!

I'm glad it went well. It usually takes 20-30 minutes to start working for ds2, so half an hour sounds about right.

Fingers crossed for you that it works for dd1 too.

Now i just need her to fall asleep in her bed (she fell asleep on me last night) but she was out like a light (no waking her), she seems fine today, no side effects at all (not grumpy) if anything she is more alert and happy.

I was a little worried about using it which is why i only used it on one of them last night, i think i will try dd1 tonight as she was up until 9.30 humming to herself last night.

It went well with dd1 (she was asleep within half an hour), i messed up dd2's, i put it in her drink but then noticed she had spilt most of her drink (because dh didn't put the valve in her cup) so i wasn't sure if i should give her another dose, after an hour it was clear that she had'nt had any so i gave her half a dose and she fell asleep half an hour later.
