anyone know how long after assessment you get dx

i took my ds to see aprivate phychologist to be assessed for aspergers she said she didnt think he was,but had other things and was going to recomend he takes a medicine to help him sleep,just wondering how long it takes hes still wide awake now!!!!

I would ring and ask - everyone's different.

There isn't a set answer,the process can take a year or a day depending on where you are (actually, ds3 took years)

I agree with telephoning; sometimes they insist on convening a multidiscipline meeting before dx and that can take a while with diaries etc, other times though people get left in the pile so always worth asking
